Adults and high school age youth are invited to register. Based on best-selling classic by Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting features a soaring score  that will resonate with audiences of all ages. The secret of Treegap Wood will forever change the relationship between the Fosters and the Tucks. As The Man in the Yellow Suit relentlessly pursues the mystery hidden within the Tuck Family, the danger grows and their very existence is threatened. SPARK! is a fast-paced introduction to performance and technical theatre taught by Western Stage and guest professionals. We will use the same format as our very successful 2018 SPARK! Camp and will have 40+ different activities in 15 days – each camp will be different from the others! We will again have several different teaching professionals and will end each camp with a Saturday Open House & Ice Cream Social for family & friends.

Basic Format:

  • What’s in a name?
  • Move It!: Physical activities like stage fights, acrobatics, dance, juggling, panto, etc.
  • Making a Scene!: Basic acting technique and play reading
  • Tinkering: to take things apart, explore tools and materials, and build wondrous, wild art. Circuits: learning paper circuitry and applying to paper artworks like cards, notes or small posters.
  • Nuts & Bolts/Carpentry: learning nuts & bolts of hardware & using hand tools
  • Sew What?: using basic sewing techniques to up-cycle plastic bags
  • Painterly Things: faux finish painting techniques
  • Design on a Dime: design elements from found or dollar-store materials
  • Stop It! - Stop-Animation - create story-based minis using iPad apps for stop-motion animation
  • SSSSounds: SFX/Soundscapes/Foley - explore non-digital means of creating SFX (sound effects) for short
  • stories;
  • Karaoke Krazy- what theatre camp doesn’t have singing/music? We’ll use karaoke tracks to work on good, healthy vocal technique

Improv 101:  All levels welcome, especially beginners!  We focus on a tenet of improv and learn the basics in a fun and supportive environment.
Improv 201:  Designed for more experience players, we go deeper into the nuances of the art of improv and add more direct feedback.
Improv 301:  This class is designed for experienced players that would like to perform in shows.
Game Night:  All levels welcome.  We do some quick and fun warm-up exercises before we jump into playing improv games.
